I wrote ‘Goodsin’ because I was crushing on Ayra Starr – OliveTheBoy

Joel Ofori Bonsu, popularly known as Olivetheboy has said that the inspiration behind his popular banger, ‘Goodsin’ is due to his crush on Nigerian Afrobeats,  Ayra Starr.

In an interview with Giovanni Caleb on Showbiz 360, the Ghanaian Afrobeats singer and songwriter indicated that he had some kind of fondness for the female artiste in question and that led him to write the song.

“I say this a lot. I was crushing on somebody. You know Ayra Starr right? She is the one so I wrote the song for her,” he told his host during the interview in which he was accompanied by his manager, Abou Thiam (Akon’s younger brother) and his friend, Qing Madi, Nigerian female singer.

When asked how he feels about how far he has come from his humble beginnings in Konongo in the Ashanti region, OliveTheBoy stated “It’s crazy. This is the work. We know what we’re doing so it’s good.”

He added, “This means a lot. I’m really amazed to be here. We’re good at what we do so we actually knew we would get here and crazy stuff is coming; be expecting it.”

Pointing out what he is working on, the young Ghanaian hitmaker mentioned that he has an EP out that has 6 songs on it and uses the platform to share the inspiration behind some of the tracks.

“It’s called the Avana EP. It has six songs and I think ‘Goodsin’ is making the waves but there’s one song it’s called ‘Stay’; I think you should check it out,” he revealed, adding that “I write most of my songs from inspiration and stuff that happened around. ‘Goodsin’ is from Ayra Starr and ‘Stay’ was just from imagination.”
